Plan Projects has been commissioned to develop a Public Art Strategy for Kingdom Street, PaddingtonCentral. The construction of Kingdom Street creates a great opportunity to commission new works of public art to complement those already within Sheldon Square and the wider Paddington Waterside area.
Essentially the purpose of the Public Art Strategy is to introduce properly integrated works of art that celebrate some of the key themes that have informed the design of the architecture and landscaping. In particular, the art works will work with the generous spatial design to add to the sense of energy and aspiration that pervades the development; it is also seen as important in encouraging people to use the green spaces to the full, crucial to the development’s sense of soul.
